Maintenance

LeblonFins should never be left unnecessarily exposed to the sun, even to dry.  Allowing strong incidence of solar rays cause discoloration, cracking and or create small holes in its structure, also it constitutes misuse and implies on the void of  the warranty.

Store them in humid airy and or in dimly lit place, favors the formation of molds that usually appear in the form of black dots, which spread leaving your fins unusable.

The use of oil products, suntan oils, sunscreens, dry the rubber, reducing its durability and it constitutes misuse and implies on the void of  the warranty.

Sea salt and sand can be washed with fresh water with low chlorine content, as excess chlorine in the water shortens the rubber life.

We recommend you only clean your rubber fins using wipes and a good marine protective coating that are designed for rubber. These protectors are antimicrobial shields and guard against discoloration, mold mildew, bacteria growth, UV sunscreen filters and harmful rays. You must pay attention to the formula and not use it if contain silicone, alcohol and other rubber abrasives. The use of abrasive substances it constitutes misuse and implies on the void of  the warranty.

You must, however, thoroughly rinse and let completely dry, fingers-up, before storing or using.

Do not store your fins vertically or one above another as they may deform. Store it horizontally in a container, sheltered from direct sunlight in a dry place to prevent the formation of mold.

Use flippers with sizes smaller or larger than your foot it constitutes misuse and implies on the void of  the warranty, as this may tear or crack the foot pocket and the heel strap from over stretching, and will change the intended relation between structural strength vs. body weight which is not covered under warranty.

How to put on and take off your fin also contributes to increase or reduce its lifetime. One suggestion is to get into the habit of wearing your fins only you are in the water or immediately before jumping into the water. Anyway, your fins and your feet has to be wet before being put on your feet.

Just hold by both rails close to the foot pocket and slide completely your feet over the heel strap all the way into the foot pocket. And only then pull the strap over heel.

Never by holding and stretching the strap over your heel and forcing your feet into the foot pocket it constitutes misuse and implies on the void of  the warranty. In doing so you will shorten the life of your fins and a broken heel strap because this practice, has no warranty.

Also keep in mind that fins are not running shoes intended for walking or running. Running with your fins besides slowing you, a lot, you may stumble and also shortens its lifeIf you bend its blade in any direction, whether walking or running, may damage and it constitutes misuse and implies on the void of  the warranty.

If you do not want to take the fin of your feet while moving on the water's edge, the best option may be walk backwards.
